The SHAPE Officers' Association

The Shape Officers Association was founded in 1961 by a group of officers at SHAPE. Today, the SHAPE Officers' Association counts some 1,750 members.

The aims of the Association are threefold:

to foster friendships among officers/civilians of equivalent rank who serve at SHAPE and with those who have served at SHAPE;
to keep members informed about SHAPE and the military situation in NATO; and
to enable members to serve the Alliance even after retirement. In short, to perpetuate the traditions of SHAPE and to support and propagate the mission, ideals and objectives of NATO

	09/01/2013 at 15:49 After a number of years where the future of the SOA was in doubt, we celebrated our 52nd Symposium very successfully. In other words, the SHAPE Officers’ Association has succeeded in changing and modernizing and thus adapting to the new situation in SHAPE and NATO.

SHAPE Officers’ Association announces Scholarship

One of the important decisions made by the 2011 General Assembly of the SOA concerned the creation of a SOA Scholarship, initiated by the ExCom member Scott Sunquist. It was the plan of the General Assembly and the Executive Committee to start this scholarship in the academic year 2012. And now we can announce the immediate implementation of the SOA Scholarship Programme in order to commemorate over 50 years of serving SHAPE.
