Welcome to the first NATO Medical Newsletter. COMEDS agreed to transition the Bi-Strategic Command Medical newsletter into the NATO Medical Newsletter, given the relevance for the wider medical community.
As you will read in the article by Chairman COMEDS, communications is very important not only within the NATO Command Structure but also outside the Medical Community. For this Chairman COMEDS asks you to contribute to the editions to follow.

Almost 90 military medical professionals from across the NATO Command Structure, NATO Force Structure and NATO operations contributing nations,  attended the 7th NATO Operations Medical Conference in various theme-block sessions held in October 2012, Ieper, Belgium.

This first edition of the Bi-SC Medical Newsletter is intended to provide a forum for sharing and coordination of information and efforts balancing the involvement and participation of the NATO Command Structure, NATO– and Partner nations on medical support in NATO.Future volumes of this newsletter will continue to capture and solicit articles highlighting high-quality information of NATO medical support without inhibiting discussion on areas needing improvement. I trust you will find these articles informative and consider using them as desk references on these critical issues.
