Civilian Employment

Civilian employment opportunities are available at both the strategic and operational levels of Allied Command Operations. Civilian personnel are hired under two categories: NATO International Civilian (NIC) and locally hired personnel.

 

Locally hired civilian personnel are recruited through local employment offices and are employed under the labour laws and agreements with the host nation where the facility is located. Most of these personnel are skilled craftsmen.

 

NATO International Civilian (NIC) Personnel are employed in accordance with NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Personnel for NATO civilian posts are recruited from those nations that participate in the NATO military structure. These civilians have an international status and most are employed in specialist technical and administrative positions.
