FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Thursday 19 December 2013 - A total of 60 Taliban rebels gave up fighting and joined the government- initiated peace and reconciliation process in the northern province of Badakhshan, a provincial government spokesman Ahmad Nawid Frotan told Xinhua: "Sixty Taliban fighters renounced violence and handed over their weapons to security authorities in Jurm district earlier Thursday," Story by: English.news.cn

Established in September 1999 in Northern Italy, Poggio Renatico, the Combined Air Operation Center 5 (CAOC-5) is a multinational command and control headquarters for air operations, in which 12 NATO countries contribute. This multinational team worked to accomplish their mission to govern Southern European airspace. After a long history of NATO operations the CAOC-5 will close its doors for the last time on 31 December 2013.
